چکیده

One of causes coffee germination process takes a long period time, because the caffeine contained in beans can inhibit activity amylase enzyme plays role process. Therefore, study was conducted on provision Natural Growth Regulatory Substances (Natural PGR). This research at Green House, Faculty Agriculture, Univeritas Sumatera Utara, Medan from October 2019 to January 2020 using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two treatment factors : Factor 1 PGR: A0 (water), A1 (bamboo shoot extract), A2 (shallot and A3 extract + shallot extract). 2 soaking duration L1 (6 hours), L2 (12 L3 (18 hours). The results showed that application natural growth regulators or extract) significantly increase rate seed vigor index. Soaking durationof 18 hours presentation but not different for 12 hours, there no interaction between factors.

Response of Germination and Seedling Growth of Pepper cultivars to Seed Priming by Plant Growth Regulators

In order to study the germination and growth of pepper seeds, a factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications was conducted. The first factor was consisting of five cultivars of pepper (Marquiza, Cadia, California Wonder, California Wonder 310 and California Wonder 300) and the second factor was gibberellic acid with three levels (0 as control, 250 and 500...

Butenolides from plant-derived smoke: natural plant-growth regulators with antagonistic actions on seed germination.

Smoke plays an intriguing role in promoting the germination of seeds of many species following a fire. Recently, a bicyclic compound containing a condensed butenolide moiety, 3-methyl-2H-furo[2,3-c]pyran-2-one (1), was reported as a potent germination promoter from plant-derived smoke. In this study, a related butenolide, 3,4,5-trimethylfuran-2(5H)-one (2), which inhibits germination and signif...

Identification and Analysis of Jasmonate Pathway Genes in Coffea canephora (Robusta Coffee) by In Silico Approach

BACKGROUND Coffea canephora is the commonly cultivated coffee species in the world along with Coffea arabica. Different pests and pathogens affect the production and quality of the coffee. Jasmonic acid (JA) is a plant hormone which plays an important role in plants growth, development, and defense mechanisms, particularly against insect pests. The key enzymes involved in the production of JA a...

Development of Genic and Genomic SSR Markers of Robusta Coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre Ex A. Froehner)

Coffee breeding and improvement efforts can be greatly facilitated by availability of a large repository of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) based microsatellite markers, which provides efficiency and high-resolution in genetic analyses. This study was aimed to improve SSR availability in coffee by developing new genic-/genomic-SSR markers using in-silico bioinformatics and streptavidin-biotin ba...

Improvement of Robusta Coffee Fermentation with Microbial Enzymes

Pectinase was produced by solidstate fermentation utilizing coffee pulp with Aspergillus niger CFR 305. The exogenous pectinase contained 7539 ±70 U/g of enzyme activity. Further the pectinase enzyme was partially decolorized with activated carbon and 80 % recovery of enzyme activity was obtained. The optimum pH and temperature of the crude decolorized pectinase was 4.5 and 50°C respectively. T...
